The New TV Shows You NEED To Watch

This TV season has given me life. I mean, there are so many great new programs airing right now and there is a little something for everybody.

Imagine having your entire life planned out and all of a sudden, you’re pregnant. But get this, you’re a virgin. A pregnant Virgin?! How does that even happen? Doesn’t matter, I am sold. Where can you find this you ask? Check out the CW’s Jane the Virgin. As crazy as the storyline seems, it works and the plot twists are hair pulling, when’s the next episode good. Not to mention the female lead, Gina Rodriguez, won a Golden Globe for her performance in the show (They don’t just give those things out to anyone you know). Trust me, when you watch this show you literally cannot wait for next week.

If you feeling really nostalgic catch VH1’s Hindsight. Okay, I may not be old enough to reminisce on some of it’s features because the show is set in 1995, however as you watch the main character, Becca, live through her “do over” at life, you can’t help but think what you would do differently if you had the chance to go back in time. Plus just hearing the soundtrack for each episode is a sure way to get any #ThrowbackThursday playlist poppin’.

If you like really good drama, make sure you watch Fox’s Empire. It may or may not have similarities to the inner workings of the music industry but screen writing is so good you may forget you’re watching a TV show. It’s also full of great one-liners, that’ll have you quoting the show IRL (I’m already calling people ‘Boo Boo Kitty’). Nevertheless the complex and modern storyline draws the viewer in and leaves them wanting more.

If you’re like me and need a sitcom or two in your life check out ABC’s Fresh off the Boat or Black-ish. They’re about minorities trying to find where they belong in their schools, neighborhoods, and workplaces, while maintaining their cultural identity. Not only are they both hilarious, they’re also super relatable, but honestly you’ll laugh so hard you’ll end up in tears.

These programs will definitely consume your spring break, if you don’t have anything planned.
