Hey It’s Arianna, back for our specialized weekly beats.
SICK VENUES PART UNO: The Great American Music Hall
So, as I expand my musical repertoire and contract my wallet size, I have been checking out a few cool venues.
Recently, my favorite has been The Great American Music Hall. The venue has the Old San Francisco Opera House, meets that huge room in the titanic, meets nuance grunge. When the
lights are dimmed and the music is loud, there is a peculiar sensation to the hall. I like to the call it “the sitting on the porch, on a southern evening in my rocking chair drinking beer” type of sensation. Yeah, the place is that cool.
What’s even cooler is the choice of bands that you can see there. A few girls and I checked out the “Thee Oh Sees” last friday. They were awesome, plus there are a local band PLUS they have totally hot, bad ass female keyboardist. Doesn’t get much cooler than that.
On top of that all, the venue is beautiful, with these engraved wooden ceilings and beautiful light fixtures. And the people are great, there were no dick head bouncers, no pretentious bartenders. Just good people and a good time.
