It’s officially Fall, and you know what that means tv junkies, our favorite shows are back! I don’t know about you guys but I’m sick of scouring the Internet for re-runs just to get my TV fix. It’s time for some new material, not to mention new shows. I’ll give you the rundown of the shows you can’t miss this season as well as some classics that are worth hopping on the bandwagon for.
It’s something about those swiveling chairs that keeps me glued to the TV whenever The Voice is on. Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, and Adam Levine are all back for a third season that has generated a lot of excitement building up to the premiere. The season has already featured some touching stories as well as phenomenal voices and has great potential. Compared to other singing competitions such as The X Factor, it comes out on top, definitely being the show to beat.
How I Met Your Mother
This classic is now in its 8th season, which is rumored but not confirmed to be the last. So the big question is, “When are we going to find out who the mother is?!” The season premiere ended with a scene shared by both Ted and what is assumed to be his wife, but of course the symbolic yellow umbrella hides her face leaving fans still waiting for the moment the mother is revealed. Well, it looks like producers have no other option than to spill Ted’s wife to fans this season, so if you have yet to meet the MacLaren’s gang, this is the time.
The members of the Glee club are finally growing up, well at least some of them. This season starts of with Rachel at NYADA, Santana in Kentucky, and Finn is…well nobody really knows where he is. Cutting back to McKinley High, there’s a handful of new characters all with Glee club potential including Puck’s younger half-brother and Marley, the new lead singer of New Directions. Potential couple in the making? Absolutely. There’s high expectations for the new cast, and they still have a lot of work to do to win over the hearts of gleeks everywhere.
Okay, first things first, Gloria is pregnant. This means that Claire, happily married with three children, is going to have a new baby half-sister. This also means that Luke, Alex, and Haley are going to have a newborn aunt. Weird. So once you’ve wrapped your head around that, Modern Family is still easily one of the best shows on TV and never fails to impress. For those of you who have never tuned in, don’t worry about catching up, I guarantee you’ll be hooked right away. The extremely talented and light-hearted cast makes the show easy to fall for.
The Mindy Project
Brand new from Fox, Mindy Kaling stars in this new comedy as a gynecologist who fantasizes about rom coms all day and is quite frankly a complete mess waiting for her happily ever after to come around. The show has the New Girl feel to it, it’s just a matter of whether or not the characters can form the chemistry to make the show a success. As for Mindy, she brings the same quirkiness we saw and loved in The Office with a little added punch to make for great comedy. It’s definitely worth keeping an eye on, and not just because of heartthrob Ed Weeks.
