RIP Andy Rooney

Andy Rooney, known for his work on 60 Minutes, died this morning at the age of 92 from complications after minor surgery.

Rooney was well-known for his dry wit and insight into every day life. He joined 60 Minutes as a regular in 1970 and featured his own reports in the regular feature, “Minutes with Andy Rooney.”

Rooney has won several awards, including 3 Emmy Awards for his essays, a Lifetime Achievement Emmy in 2003, six WGA Awards, and a Peabody Award.

Though controversial at times, Rooney has made a huge impact on entertainment, and CalTV would like to take this moment to thank him for his contributions. RIP.
